CBT - Compulsory Basic Training

"This course was introduced by the Government in 1990 to ensure that all learning riders receive formal instruction to achieve a minimal, safe and competent level of riding and control skills."
Completion of this course will allow the provisional solo rider a two year period to ride, using the CBT certificate to validate the driving license. This certificate must be renewed if a practical motorcycle test has not been taken and passed.
The CBT is usually completed in one day. If you require additional training to complete the course there will be an extra charge.

Course content:

  • Eyesight and driving licence details check
  • Presentation of motorcycle equipment and safety wear
  • Pre-riding motorcycle maintenance and safety checks
  • Practical on site riding exercises
  • Theory and final road riding techniques & tips
  • The road ride - This will be a minimum of 2 hours; conducted with 2-way radios for communication purposes.

Only on completion of all of the above elements will a certificate be issued by your instructor.
